ABOUT MARK

A Mad Max fan from way back, Mark Fernquest spends his off-time scavenging scrap metal on the wasted highways of America and pop-riveting those same rusty scraps onto vintage leather ammo pouches and leather jackets. Not so long ago he was the guest on Northbay TV's Creature Features TV show, touting the wearable Wasteland art found in his Etsy shop.

But wait, there's more. Mark has published three articles about Detonation, the week-long post-apocalyptic festival held in Uranium Springs, Ariz. each year—I Left My Heart In Uranium Springs, To a Desert Place: Return to Uranium Springs and Live from Uranium Springs: The Town that Doesn't Exist—in two newspapers, The North Bay Bohemian and the Marin Pacific Sun. Read the first article HERE!

Mark wears many hats, including those of copyeditor, ad manager, magazine editor and freelance journalist. He also secretly plays the didjeridoo, collects odd books and other ephemera, and cavorts with black cats in the apple orchard at midnight. He hopes he has his secret garden planted before the Big Bombs hit.
